Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She later worked as anchor of the morning news and as a crime reporter for WCBD-TV. In Charleston O'Dell's stories about the relaxed approach police take to DUI cases resulted in the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to state authorities re-issuing the strictest guidelines regarding DUI instances. The Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with an award for the Best Report of the year Award for all South Carolina media. Her work in Charleston was the reason she joined as a co-anchor, reporter and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as the NBC weekend co-anchor. Additionally, she is a co-anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Co-hosted also for the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
